Not sure what this is but I found it growing near the road. Centaurea cyanus is it's scientific name. More commonly called cornflower, with many other names. I've seen them called Bachelor's Buttons. Here's the wikipedia link about this flower: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornflower
