Purplish Flower of Glechoma hederacea

These pictures of the flowers of a plant called ground ivy. They were taken in Louisville, Kentucky. The plant is known as an weed but I really like its flower. The plant is also known as Gill Over the Ground or Creeping Charlie. Its scientific name is Glechoma hederacea.

It came from Europe to North America. I wonder if it is considered a weed over there?
