White-Yellow Daffodil

Here is a bicolor daffodil (Narcissus hybrid) which might also be referred to as a trumpet or large cup daffodil. The petals (white part in this picture) can be referred to as perianth and the middle part that looks like a cup or trumpet referred to as a corona.

Baby Daffodil - Macro View

The pivot display on the Canon Powershot camera really helps take a picture like this. This is a small daffodil variety and I was trying to get some of the detail of the anther, stamen, pistil, and stigma flower parts.

Ground Level Daffodil Picture

Lowered the camera to the ground and used the swivel display to get this point of view. Used the super macro mode on the camera though it could be focus better.

Daffodil - the Harbinger of Spring

WOOO! The first flowers of spring have arrived. I think they are little early but I love to see this flower each season. Webster's dictionary says it is of the genus Narcissus of the lily family.
